Worldcon 74: SciFi X/Y — The Pern Episode, Live
It’s here. The eighth episode, wherein we establish a tradition and circle back to the topic of our eighth episode last year: Pern.
As it so happens, our eighth episode timed out to be the same week as our live coverage of the 74th Annual World Science Fiction Convention, MidAmierCon II, in Kansas City. As luck would have it, the contingent from Kevin J. Anderson’s WordFire Press included Todd McCaffrey, who collaborated with his mother Anne on Pern novels prior to her passing. Todd was gracious with his time (and patient with our technology) as we plied him with questions about Pern, about writing, about engineering, and whether or not he’s about to have some competition when his sister Georgeanne’s Pern novel comes out…
