The Rock Confirms Talk with WB

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson — who uses Twitter with the same enthusiasm as Vin Diesel — has confirmed that he has met with executives at Warner Brothers and DC Comics to discuss a project for 2014.

This is not the first time Johnson has been rumored to have a connection to a DC property. In 2012, he was talking about playing Lobo — although that was more the Internet blowing up over his saying he’d love to play the character rather than his confirming any kind of deal — and many times fans (and Johnson himself) have made the observation that he’d be a perfect choice to play Black Adam. The irony is that the success of Man of Steel has contributed to the delay in the long-developing Shazam project, according to director Peter Segal.

Given that Man of Steel 2/Batman vs. Superman/Justice League is the big project in 2014, it’s a safe bet the rumor mill will grind out plenty of speculation on Johnson’s involvement in that particular project.

So — Darkseid, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg, Lex Luthor, Lobo, Black Adam — what character do you think Johnson will play? And could there be a possibility that WB is working on a second project in 2014? Could Justice League Dark be back in development?

What about The Rock as Etrigan the Demon?
