STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) programs are all the rage now. Just a few weeks ago, some of us on staff were able to attend the KC Maker Faire and see some cool stuff: robotics, automation, video and film production process…And that’s all well and good, but where does one get the inspiration to invent? How can an engineer or architect or city planner or physicist develop the Next Big Thing? Where do our ideas begin?

In this episode, Corpus Christi science teacher John Colunga joins us for a frank discussion of the need to keep Arts in the general curricula, because without imaginations, there is no invention and design. Here we scratch the surface on making the case for STEAM.
