ROGUES GALLERY #46: With Special Guest Jeremy Jordan

This week, we’re joined by a special Rogue dialing in all the way from the set of Supergirl in Vancouver. Jeremy Jordan sits with us around the round table to discuss Winn’s character development in season two, plus some teases at what’s to come for the Girl of Steel.

Episode 314 ” The Gentle Art of Making Enemies”

In the winter finale, Gotham delivers Batman vs. the Joker.

The blackout continues. Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) has scored a victory over Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor). And Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) faces Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan) in a preview of what’s going to be happening for the rest of their lives.

 

Episode 210 “We Can Be Heroes”

The episode title is a little misleading, because by the time we get to the middle, Kara (Melissa Benoist) has pretty much decided that nobody else is good enough to be a superhero. In the wake of the prison break by Livewire (Brit Morgan), she learns that Jimmy (Mehcad Brooks) has been skulking around as Guardian with Winn (Jeremy Jordan) as his backup, and Mon-El (Chris Wood) is too busy worrying about Kara to effectively protect the non-supers in the middle of an attack.

At least the confession of lurve didn’t lead to another kiss…

 

Episode 311 “Dead or Alive”

Kid Flash has a fan club!

H.R. has a stalker. Only she’s not a stalker. She’s a collector. A sort of law enforcement bounty hunter type who’s hunting Wells because he violated the ban on transdimensional travel.

And in this episode, Barry takes the same path as Kara Zor-El: trying to be the one who decides who can be a hero and who can’t be. He’s not big into Cisco facing Gypsy, who has the same powers, in a duel over custody of H.R.

Iris convinces Wally to help her investigate an arms dealer, someone Joe and the D.A.’s office have been trying to catch for months. She almost blows it, almost gets herself killed, and gets an earful from Joe.

The main spine of the story, Cisco vs. Gypsy, ends with a rather nice face-off that travels to Earth-2, Earth-38 (interrupting Miss Tessmacher in the Catco offices), and Earth-Mustafar, where the two rivals share a first flirty spark. In the end, Cisco beats Gypsy with a little helpful knowledge from Julian, thus saving H.R.’s life, although she’ll have to report him dead, which means he can never go back to Earth -19 again.

 

Episode 210 “The Legion of Doom”

We get an interesting reversal in the opening, with a narration by Damien Darhk () and the opening logos for the Legion of Doom.

The Legion is in the midst of trying to locate the rest of the Spear of Destiny, only Rip isn’t talking because he doesn’t remember anything since he fried his own brain. The three villains have to split their time between trying to win and trying to snarl at each other. With all the scene chewing that implies.

And the episode does a nice job of explaining just how it is that Eobard Thawne still exists after he ceased to exist. But it’ll make your brain hurt.

 

Episode 511 “Second Chances”

Three years ago, Tina Boland (Juliana Harkavy) was being tortured, her boyfriend under the gun in front of her, with thugs surrounding them as the Central City particle accelerator explodes, giving her the Canary Cry.

Talia (Lexa Doig) has been researching Oliver since finding that he wears the hood of one of her students, Yao Fe. Which means she’s … not young.

Team Arrow tracks down Tina in Hub City, where they make an offer to bring her on board without any kind of interview, vetting, discussion, evaluation, or any kind of process to determine she’s going to fit in. Because the writers need her to be all in Oliver’s face about staying out of the way, because of course she’s got attitude and they have to not like each other before they like each other.

Tina’s target: Sean Solus, thug and gangster attached to the recently departed Tobias Church. He’s stepped into the power vacuum, and he’s also a metahuman with the ability to induce vertigo in his victims.

Plus, Felicity has her own Osgood! Part of a group called Helix, and their data cache is called Pandora. Thus begins Felicity’s hero arc. To Oracle, maybe?

Oh, and Tina isn’t really Tina…
