New Cast Members for DC Comics TV
In recent days, we’ve had quite a few announcements of cast additions on the many DC Comics television shows. Here’s a wrap-up of the latest:
Arrow
Several people have been added to the Arrow cast for season four. Parker Young has been cast to play a love interest for Thea Queen. Colton Hayne’s character is supposed to be coming back throughout the fourth season, so Young and Hayne’s characters will likely have some interesting conflicts with each other. Elysia Rotaru will play a love interest to Oliver – but not to worry Olicity fans, she’s just in the flashback segments.
True Blood alum Rutina Wesley has been cast to play Liza Warner, also known as Lady Cop. She will be apart of an anti vigilante task force. Created by Robert Kanigher and John Rosenberger, Liza Warner became Lady Cop after she witnesses the murder of her two roommates by a man dressed in cowboy boots with skull and cross bones on them. The detective on her case commends her for her excellent memory, calling her “natural police.” Liza decides to enroll in the academy, and sets out to find the killer.
Ryan Robbins is to play Conklin, who is apart of the Shadowspire organization. Conklin will only appear as apart of the flashback segments of the show, and will be working with Baron Blitzkrieg (Jimmy Akingbola). Baron will go by Baron Reiter in Arrow, and is the leader of Shadowspire. The organization once went up against Deathstroke, and he failed to keep a bomb from blowing up the Capitol. Baron and Conklin will prove to be difficult adversaries to Oliver Queen.
In other news, Stephen Amell injured himself slightly while training for his upcoming WWE match against Stardust- which he can tell you about here.
Gotham
This season of Gotham is seeing a huge influx in villains. Among the many we know about so far: Tigress (Jessica Lucas), Theo Galvan (James Frain), Mr. Freeze (yet to be cast), and the Joker (Cameron Monaghan promoted to series regular). Leo Fitzpatrick has just been added to the list to play Joe Pike, the leader of an arsonist gang called Pike Brothers. Joe Pike is not a canon character from the DC Comics Universe.

Supergirl
Livewire (Leslie Willis) will be played by another True Blood alum, Brit Morgan. According to Variety, Morgan’s character is a confident, abrasive and funny shock-jock who works for CatCo Media. An accident gives her powers, and as she becomes more dangerous, she will have to face Supergirl. Based on her character description for Supergirl, she is much like the comic book character. Livewire first appeared in the Superman animated series in the 90’s.
Entertainment Weekly reported that they can confirm that Justice Leak has been cast as Hellgrammite. Hellgrammite started as an entomologist named Roderick Rose. After some experimentation, he is transformed into an insect villain. In the comic-books his powers include “super-strength, improved jumping — or hopping, in this case — and can produce cocoons to imprison foes or even transform them into larvae versions of himself.” However, this new version of the character will be an alien.
We’ve also heard that Red Tornado will be on the show, but no other details are available yet.
The Flash
A Female Doctor Light will appear in the next season of The Flash, but no news on who will be cast to play her. Doctor Light has been apart of the Justice League, and is also known as Kimiyo Hoshi, an astronomer and medical doctor. Hoshi carries the name as a legacy character. The original Doctor Light was a villain, usually connected to the Fearsome Five and frequent nemesis for the Justice League and the Teen Titans.
Gotham returns September 21st. Supergirl premieres opposite Gotham starting October 26th. The Flash and Arrow return October 6th and 7th, respectively.
