MTV GEEK Closes Down
In a post titled “So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish” posted today, MTV Geek abruptly announced it was closing up shop and would no longer be in operation, with news related to the genre being covered by the main MTV News site from now on.
We're headed to the big comic book shop in the sky. Thanks everyone! http://t.co/7p56Psvx0H

Launched three years ago at New York Comic Con, MTV Geek spent much of its energy covering comics and comics-related topics. Their announcement comes in the wake of similar decisions by iFanboy and MTV’s video game blog “Multiplayer” — both going away earlier this year — and the temporary shutdown of Comics Alliance.
According to Kleefeld on Comics, the full-time staff will be moved to other departments, so the job loss factor will be minimal, limited to the freelance contributors.
Here at SciFi4Me, we frequently depended on MTV Geek as a source for Comic Con Carne, and we wish the staff members luck in their next endeavors.
