Michael Sheen and David Tennant Laugh at the End of the World in GOOD OMENS

David Tennant is one lucky devil. Not only will he be back for Season Two of Marvel’s Jessica Jones, but he will now play a literal demon in Amazon’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Prachett’s Good Omens. He will play opposite Michael Sheen, who most recently started in Showtime’s Masters of Sex, as an angel.

The show will be set in 2018, which is on the brink of the apocalypse. However, the angel Aziraphale (Sheen) and the demon Crowley (Tennant) aren’t really into the whole end of the world thing, having grown fond of earthly life and they attempt to stop the Antichrist from starting it all off.

Good Omens, which at one point in time was to be turned into a film directed by Terry Gilliam, is just one of Neil Gaiman’s television projects over the past few years. Along with Good Omens, his other projects are Fox’s Lucifer and Starz’s American Gods. It will run for six episodes.

Good Omens is a co-production between BBC Studios, Narrativia (the production company of Terry Prachett’s daughter, Rhianna) and the Blank Corporation and in association with BBC Worldwide for Amazon Prime Video and the BBC.

Neil Gaiman will act as co-executive producer, showrunner and has adapted all six episodes of the series.
