LUKE CAGE Gets Showrunner
Cheo Hodari Coker, executive producer of Showtime’s Ray Donovan, will take on showrunner duties for the Marvel series Luke Cage.
A former journalist, Coker has served as writer and producer on Southland, NCIS:LA, and Almost Human. He’s reported to be writing the first two episodes of Luke Cage in addition to his role as executive producer.
Netflix has announced the show will premiere in 2016. It’s the third of four series that will be available through the online network, following Daredevil and AKA Jessica Jones. The fourth series, Iron Fist, will air after Cage, with the four shows leading into a Defenders miniseries.
Mike Colter, who stars as Luke Cage, will reportedly appear in Jones first, leading from one series into the next with story threads.
