INDIANA JONES 5 Has a Writer
Just days after The Walt Disney Company announced plans for Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford to reunite for a fifth Indiana Jones outing, there’s a new report in The Hollywood Reporter that has the project adding writer David Koepp for the screenplay.
Koepp, who co-wrote Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, has been a frequent collaborator with Spielberg. Besides the fourth Jones movie, Koepp wrote Jurassic Park and its sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, along with War of the Worlds and the first of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films.
Koepp’s work on Crystal Skull came after the story was developed by George Lucas and Jeff Nathanson, who also wrote several drafts of the screenplay before Koepp was brought onto the project.
There’s still no official word on whether George Lucas will be involved. In past Indiana Jones projects, the films have moved forward only after the story has met the approval of Lucas, Ford, and Spielberg collectively. If Lucas isn’t involved, it may be that the project will move forward more quickly under the watchful eye of Kathleen Kennedy.
