GOTHAM Ordered to Series

In the wake of their cancellation of Almost Human after only one season, Fox has announced that Gotham will be going to series for Fall 2015.

Produced by WBTV, the show is a prequel telling the story of Detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) as he investigates the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne. The show had previously had a series commitment, but now has graduated to a full order. Word is that the script by Bruno Heller (The Mentalist) is very strong, although how well a Batman show will do without Batman remains to be seen.

Plus, there’s still the question of whether or not Gotham will be part of a shared universe that includes the Man of Steel movies. Given recent comments by David S. Goyer, odds are against it.

And according to Entertainment Weekly, there will be a trailer for the show during the debut episode of 24 tonight on Fox.

The order is for “at least” thirteen episodes.
