Episode 25: Extraordinary: Stan Lee Red Carpet

I was a fan of Stan Lee before I was aware of who Stan Lee was.

Like many others of my age, my first introduction to anything Marvel was the appearance of Spider-Man in The Electric Company. However, I graduated to reading the comic strip that appeared in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. I still remember how floored I was when he told MJ his secret identity: that just wasn’t something that was done in superhero stories.

However, while I was aware of him as a creator, I never got too into comics for a variety of reasons. So, it wasn’t really until the Marvel Cinematic Universe got going that I started realizing just how much of an impact Lee had on the industry.

On August 22, in partnership with the online fundraising platform Omaze and Make-a-Wish, there was a live tribute to him. Hosted by Chris Hardwick, Extraordinary: Stan Lee boasted a wide range of celebrities coming out to honor the creator.

I managed to get on the red carpet and get some interviews down with some of them.
