DAREDEVIL Meets the Punisher in Season 2
Marvel has just announced that Jon Bernthal will play Frank Castle in the second season of Daredevil on Netflix.
Bernthal, who is probably best known to genre fans for his role as Shane on The Walking Dead, has also been in The Wolf of Wall Street, Fury, and Mob City. He’s also the voice of Decker in the video game Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare – Exo Zombies.
“Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. “Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”
Marvel’s announcement has Bernthal identified with The Punisher persona, not just Frank Castle, which implies the costumed vigilante will make an appearance. Also sworn to clean up Hell’s Kitchen by any means necessary, Castle is bound to have some differences of opinion with Matt Murdoch.
Daredevil returns to Netflix in 2016.
