Chris Pine To Play Steve Trevor Instead of Hal Jordan
The Wrap reports that Chris Pine will be playing Steve Trevor in the upcoming Wonder Woman film. And while he’ll play the love interest of Gal Gadot’s Princess Diana, “there will be plenty of action to keep him busy.”
It was rumored that Pine would play Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern film, which was announced at San Diego Comic-Con as The Green Lantern Corps. But it appears that he has decided to sign on with Wonder Woman in a reported multi-picture deal. Pine has just finished Disney’s The Finest Hours and is in the process of filming Justin Lin’s Star Trek Beyond.
Patty Jenkins is directing Wonder Woman and Jason Fuchs wrote the script. There is no word yet on the plot of the film or any details about Pine’s character, although there are some rumors the story would take place during World War II.
The film is set for release June 23, 2017.
