BATMAN V. SUPERMAN Moves, WB Announces More Dates
A new report in Variety brings word that Warner Brothers has staked its claim on nine dates through 2020 for upcoming DC Comics films, with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice moving to March 26, 2016.
This answers the question of whether there would be a showdown on May 6, as that was the date already claimed by Marvel for Captain America 3 when WB moved BvS there from its original release date in 2015. Now hitting theaters two months early, the DC flick will compete with Dean Devlin’s new global warming disaster movie and Brett Ratner’s entry into the Beverly Hills Cop franchise.
No titles announced with the new WB dates, which are:

Many are already reacting with the opinion that Warner Brothers flinched in the “game of chicken” that was brewing for the first weekend in May, but this move puts the DC movie into theaters well ahead of Marvel’s next installment in their cinematic universe.
These now-official dates don’t exactly line up with those dates originally reported by Nikki Finke prior to San Diego Comic-Con, but they’re close enough that her list could still be viable.
May 2016 – Batman v Superman
July 2016 – Shazam
Xmas 2016 – Sandman
May 2017 – Justice League
July 2017 – Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2

I just hope DC can pull this off. I’m a big DC guy and while I’ve loved the Marvel films, I’ve also been jealous of the lack of content on the DC side of things. I’m excited to see The Rock as Shazaam but think the Wonder Woman film should come first, since she is significantly more primary to the Justice League.
Most of us here think Johnson would make a better Black Adam, but the point’s been made that he can be very ‘child-like’ in his ability to deliver a character with a great sense of fun, so he might be able to pull off Captain Marvel.
As to the rest, we’re cautiously optimistic, although WB’s strategy so far has been “let’s see what this one does first” and they may finally be waking up to the fact that it’s cost them.
