Disney and Ava DuVernay know how to keep fans engaged in the development of their adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time. It seems each week or so this past month they have announced some new exciting detail about the movie. This week’s announcement comes from DuVernay herself on Twitter: a release date of April 6, 2018.

Joined by the film’s star, newcomer Storm Reid, the director posted the film’s cast and crew participating in their take on the Mannequin Challenge, a viral internet video trend that started earlier this fall where people freeze in action while being recorded. Several professional sports teams and celebrities have joined in with their own videos and posted them in several of the social media outlets.

The film adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s first book in the Time Quintet Series began filming in Los Angeles and will travel to New Zealand for a two week shoot. Written by Frozen scribe and co-director Jennifer Lee, it follows troubled teenager Meg Wallace as she, her genius brother, Charles, and their friend Calvin, search for their missing father on a journey that takes them into alternate dimensions. The film also stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, Gugu Mbatha-raw, and Mindy Kaling.

Disney had already saved the date under “Untitled Fairy Tale movie” for the weekend after Easter Sunday, when children are apt to be off for Spring Break. This past spring, The Jungle Book did a domestic gross of $364 million, currently the fourth highest-grossing 2016 title. The only other movie that has been listed for that weekend is a Laika animated movie from Focus Features.
