WONDER WOMAN Trailer Drops at CCXP

Sao Paulo, Brazil’s CCXP has quickly become the largest genre convention event in the world, surpassing even Comic-Con San Diego in attendance, which means it makes a certain amount of sense that Wonder Woman 1984 would go there for the trailer debut.

Following a taped greeting from actors Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, and Chris Pine, director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot led the crowd in an enthusiastic “wonder pose” before Gadot shouted that they had been “dying” to show the trailer to the world.

Jenkins said that Steve Trevor’s return is “not a gimmick” and that there’s a reason built within the story. During the shooting of the first film, Jenkins says there was an “a-ha” moment where the premiseof WW84 fell into place, and Steve Trevor had to be a part of it. When asked why the film is set in 1984, Jenkins replied that Wonder Woman is very strongly tied to that era, and “Because this movie is set in the eighties, we set out to make a grand epic experience like they made in the eighties.”

Wonder Woman 1984 lands in theaters June 5, 2020.
