WINTER SOLDIER Officially Begins Production

Captain America: The Winter Soldier has officially begun shooting in Los Angeles. Set immediately after events in The Avengers, the film follows Steve Rogers as he continues to make the adjustment to living in modern times. When a new threat appears in Washington, D.C. Rogers teams up with Natasha Romanoff to battle against their new adversary. This would seem to indicate that Black Widow will have a sizable role in the film. And Hayley Atwell is back, so we can expect flashbacks to WWII as well.

This is the first image Marvel has set loose on the Internet:

And as we reported in our latest Week in Review, Robert Redford has been confirmed as playing the “head of S.H.I.E.L.D.”  — his words — and although the official cast list has him playing Agent Alexander Pierce, I’m sticking to my original theory that Redford is actually playing Nick Fury, Senior.

Tell me I’m wrong, Marvel.

  • I can only hope for two things with this movie, well three if you count getting rid of Redford. (not a fan) LOL

I hope that the actor bulks up some for the role, he looked almost skinny compared to the other actors in the Avengers.

and two I hope they either come up with a new design for his costume that looks tough and utilitarian or use the one from the first movie. the one chosen for the avengers looked awful.

no matter what they do about my personal pet peeves, if they can make this movie as excellent as the first I will still love it even with the Pajama and boots uniform.

    • Well, the uniform was slightly off, yes. But when you figure they’re trying to give it a “modern” look… Of course, given that this is being pushed as more of a ‘spy thriller’ story, maybe we’ll see an altogether new uniform that’s more appropriate to whatever mission he and Black Widow get assigned. And I’m sure we’ll see the classic uniform in the flashbacks.
