WB: The Movie Flash and Aquaman Bow in 2018
Variety reports that Warner Brothers chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara has confirmed two more of the DC Comics movies in the master plan: The Flash and Aquaman, both set to hit screens in 2018.
No writer or director currently set on the project, but Ezra Miller has been cast as the lead. There was some speculation that Miller could be playing Wally West, but according to the Variety article, Miller will be playing Barry Allen, putting to bed any hope that the film and television universes would be connected.
During that same meeting, it was also made official that Jason Momoa would indeed be playing Aquaman, and that his stand-alone film also would debut in 2018. The two solo films would follow the Justice League movie set for 2017, but figure we’ll see at least a Flash or Barry Allen cameo in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
This also negates the speculation that Scoot McNairy is playing the Flash in Batman v. Superman, unless we have it wrong and Miller is indeed playing Wally West or Bart Allen, although that seems unlikely given that Barry Allen is doing so well on television (played by Grant Gustin). Warner Brothers would probably want to capitalize on the name recognition, even though the actors will be different.

- Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice – March 25th, 2016
- Suicide Squad – August 5th, 2016
- Wonder Woman – June 23rd, 2017
- Justice League – November 17th, 2017
- The Flash – March 23rd, 2018
- Aquaman – July 27th, 2018
- Shazam – April 5th, 2019
- Justice League 2 – June 14th, 2019
- Cyborg – April 3rd, 2020
- Green Lantern – June 19th, 2020
Miller gained notoriety for his performance in We Need to Talk About Kevin, and has had some good buzz coming out of several indie productions. The DC gig will certainly be his most high-profile work to date.
And on-screen Barry Allen is still not blonde…
