Ultimate Horror Weekend to kick off with Zombie Walk
Orlando-area zombies looking for a few good brains are in luck! Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend is set to kick off on Friday, October 26 with another highly-anticipated Zombie Walk hosted by The Deadite Empire.
The undead are welcome to congregate beginning at noon on Friday at The Rosen Centre Hotel at 9840 International Drive, which is across the street from the Hilton Orlando where the convention is being held.
A dedicated makeup area will be set up in The Rosen Centre lobby with an arsenal of special effects artists on hand to assist those looking to add an extra touch of bloody realism to their costumes. Central Florida Face and Body Painting Guild will offer the zombie makeup this year, and nasty wound appliances setting off that makeup will once again be offered by Post Mortem FX.
For a small fee, these skilled professionals can make wounds ooze and brains bleed, and even deliver full body zombie paint jobs for more adventurous souls, so zombie wannabes should plan on arriving early if they want to take advantage of these artists’ unique talents.

The Rosen Centre will be offering an array of food and drink specials for all Spooky Empire attendees. The Zombie Walk is scheduled to make its shambling start at 4pm.
This Zombie Walk is a family-friendly event and attracts not only horror movie fans but also many interested in capturing the incredibly unique photo opportunity.
After the Zombie Walk, Spooky Empire’s three-day convention will then continue at the Hilton Orlando. From October 26 to 28 horror fans of all ages will have the opportunity to meet and hear from an amazing lineup of celebrity guests including Robert Englund (“Freddy Krueger”) and the cast of “Nightmare on Elm Street 4”, Rose McGowen (“Jawbreaker,” “Charmed”), Chris Sarandon (“Fright Night,” “Child’s Play”), the casts of “Cannibal Holocaust” and “Zombie,” and zombie stunt actors from “The Walking Dead” television show, plus more than 30 other film horror legends.
Attendees can also enjoy a full lineup of bands and live performances, author signings, seminars, a costume contest, psychic medium shows, a celebrity poker tournament, a large vendor room, a hearse and creepy car show, two monster museums, a tattoo festival, and the Freak Show Film Festival — named one of the “13 Horror Film Festivals to Die For” by MovieMaker magazine.
