Twitch Reinstates Dr. Disrespect’s Channel After 2 Week Suspension

Twitch reinstated Dr. DisRespect’s channel last night after a 14-day ban. Dr. DisRespect, whose real name is Herschel “Guy” Beahm, was suspended for violating Twitch’s community guidelines.

Beam was attending E3 and live streaming his experience at the event to his Twitch channel. Beahm and his team continued to stream as he walked into public bathrooms on four different occasions. Beahm’s livestream was on the first day of E3 and had tens of thousands of viewers. Twitch suspended Beahm’s channel, and E3 revoked his badge following his actions. Twitch’s community guidelines state that streamers are prohibited from “sharing content that violates another’s reasonable expectation of privacy.”

Despite the suspension, Beahm continued to have a presence on the internet by posting an E3 recap to his YouTube channel. The video mostly captures Beahm walking around E3 in his Dr. DisRespect persona, and ending with a tease of what got him in trouble. Even though Twitch reinstated Beahm’s channel, Beahm has not yet streamed to his channel. Despite his continued Twitch hiatus, Beahm’s fans have been in his channel’s chat; excitedly waiting for the Doctor’s return.

Beahm is one of gamings biggest personalities. He has over 3 million subscribers on Twitch and, according to twitchmetrics.net, averages around 15-thousand viewers a week. Beahm also won the Trending Gamer Award at The 2017 Game Awards.
