TIMELESS Adds Two Launch Pad Alumni to Writers Room
NBC’s new series Timeless from Eric Kripke (Supernatural) has two new writers on staff, and they have an interesting common background.
Anslem Richardson and David Hoffman have joined the show, which stars Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, and Goran Visnjic, about a group that travels through time in an attempt to stop a master criminal out to change history.

Both writers come out of the Launch Pad competition, where Hoffman won the 2015 pilot competition with his script Running Money, and Richardson has served as a competition mentor and also landed on the 2014 Young & Hungry List.
Hoffman’s pilot script will be produced by Chernin Entertainment and Romark Entertainment. He moved into screenwriting after fifteen years in the financial services industry. He also appeared on the 2015 Young & Hungry List. Richardson’s The Marx Sheet has been set up at CBS with Jeremy Renner and Timberman-Beverly as producers.
The Launch Pad is a writing competition operated by The Tracking Board, an online news and information outlet covering the industry’s speculative script market as well as development news in Hollywood. They have three competitions: TV pilots, feature film scripts, and literary manuscripts.
Timeless is being produced by Sony Pictures TV, Davis Entertainment, Kripke Enterprises, and MiddKid Productions. Kripke and co-creator Shawn Ryan are executive producers. The show will air Monday nights at 10/9 Central following The Voice, giving it a solid potential lead-in, but as the two shows are very much dissimilar, it’s a wait and see game to know how many of the audience for one will stick around for the other.
The show is also one of three time travel series coming this fall, the other two being Making History on Fox and Time After Time on ABC (and that one has H.G. Wells in it), so the other question will be which one is left standing in the end.
