STAR WARS News: Glover is Calrissian + SALACIOUS CRUMBS Episode XXXIV
In a casting announcement that most felt was all but inevitable, Disney and Lucasfilm have made it official: Donald Glover will play young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo prequel.
Joining Alden Ehrenreich as Solo, Glover will play the younger incarnation of Billy Dee Williams’ gambler and con artist introduced in The Empire Strikes Back. The prequel film depicts Han Solo’s early years, and will show Solo and Calrissian on their respective trajectories to becoming the leaders in the Rebel Alliance.
The film will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. “We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us,” said Lord and Miller. “These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”
Glover will be seen in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming in an undisclosed role, leading some to speculate that he could be playing Miles Morales, as many have been campaigning to have happen for quite some time now.
