STAR WARS Holonet Weekly: Rebels, Theories, and Reunions

Another week, another set of rumors and stories. Ghost theories, trench theories, and a touch of senioritis. Let’s see what we’ve got.

While fans were sad to see Star Wars Rebels come to an end last year, there is new hope it won’t be last we see of Ezra, Ashoka, or Sabine. Flash back to 2016’s Rogue One. Several Easter eggs were placed in the movie that referenced the animated series. Dave Filoni even confirmed this. These Easter eggs included the droid Chopper, a PA system on Yavin IV paging General Syndulla, and the sighting of the Rebels ship, Ghost, in multiple locations. Now that we know Disney and Lucasfilm is producing the new live action series that is a prequel to Rogue One, will we see more from the Ghost crew? Sure, the story will follow Diego Luna’s character, but who says we won’t run into some of our favorite Rebels? Remember we did see Saw Gerrera pop back up from The Clone Wars series into Rebels and then Rogue One.

More pictures are popping up from the set of Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian. These shots are images of a skiff and a trench. Now we know the trench has become a regular character in all things Star Wars, like the hall fights in Marvel Netflix shows. According to a source at Making Star Wars, the theory is that the trench will to be used to film people traveling along a lava river…. which makes sense to have a skiff, right? Or everyone would just melt…. Take a look and see what you think.

Recently our hottie, Oscar Isaac, spoke to The Daily Beast about the filming of Episode IX and his missing partner in crime, Carrie Fisher. According to Isaac, the story does deal with her quite a bit yet it’s strange and a little painful to talk about her, but not have her there. But it does seem the cast and crew are happy to have J.J. Abrams back on set and they have a touch of “senioritis” with the trilogy slowly coming to an end. Before Isaac changed subjects, he did say again that Fisher’s presence will be throughout the movie and “It deals with the amazing character that Carrie created in a really beautiful way.”

That’s a wrap for this week. Look for us next week for the happenings around our favorite galaxy!
