STAR WARS #1 Is Out, and We Talk With Jason Aaron
When the Walt Disney Company bought Lucasfilm, many felt it was only a matter of time before the Star Wars comic book license would return to Marvel Comics, in order to keep everything “in the family”, as it were. And sure enough, not long after the acquisition, we had news that Dark Horse would no long be publishing Star Wars.
Now, in January 2015, Star Wars makes its long-anticipated return to Marvel with a story by Jason Aaron and art by John Cassaday. Picking up after events in the first Star Wars movie (now known by many as A New Hope), the new comic — along with the Darth Vader and Princess Leia titles — will tell stories that are now part of the overall Star Wars canon. Meaning that events taking place in the comics or books will now be fair game for reference in the new movies.
Jason Aaron made an appearance at Elite Comics in Overland Park, KS, to sign copies and chat with fans — even signing a copy for a Wookiee! (check our Instagram) — and we got a chance to ask him about the new project and where we go from here.
