SOUL and THE MANDALORIAN Lead VES Awards

The Visual Effects Society held their annual celebration on Tuesday, April 6, hosted once again by Patton Oswalt. This year’s event was presented virtually, honoring the best work in film, animation, television, commercials, and video games.

The presentation included the Lifetime Achievement Award for Peter Jackson, presented by Cate Blanchett (Galadriel in Jackson’s Lord of the Rings films) along with a tribute from Andy Serkis, Naomi Watts, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, James Cameron and Gollum.

Rob Legato, ASC, received the Award for Creative Excellence for his work as a visual effects supervisor and visual effects director of photography. Sacha Baron Cohen presented the award.
