Sigourney Weaver Answers GHOSTBUSTERS Call
On the heels of the news that Ernie Hudson had joined the new Ghostbusters movie, in addition to a maybe-cameo/maybe-more by Annie Potts, director Paul Feig has now revealed that Sigourney Weaver will also be part of the project:
Gang, trying to keep surprises but this is about to leak, so I'll tell you myself: the awesome Sigourney Weaver is going to be in our movie!

Both Bill Murray and Dan Ackroyd are part of the project, although their roles are unclear. Murray is rumored to be playing the villain, taking the spot owned by William Atherton’s Walter Peck character in the original. Potts is said to be playing a hotel clerk, so unless Janine Melnitz changed careers, we aren’t likely to see any of the original cast reprising their roles.
Same can be said for Weaver, probably. As Dana Barrett in the first two films, she was the “straight man” to Murray’s comic Peter Venkman.
Feig has been using Twitter to announce “cameos” because, according to him, the set is overrun with paparazzi and he’d like to control the flow of information a bit. But he’s also been using Twitter to dress down critics of the new project, getting less cordial as the back-and-forth continued.
You all have no idea what we did, so stop acting like you do. Enough is enough. Just let this movie happen. #enough https://t.co/lBZGHaNEbz
