RE:ZERO Season 2 Delayed Due To Coronavirus Concerns

Production on popular anime Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World has been delayed due to concerns over the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Season 2, which was scheduled to come out in April, was delayed to July 2020. The exact date the new episodes will be released on has not been announced at this time. Studio White Fox has stated that the exact release date will be announced on their Twitter account. The anime production, which is outsourced in China, has been disrupted by the outbreak of the virus, which has also affected schedules for events such as AnimeJapan 2020.

Re:Zero is a psychological drama that follows the story of a young high school shut-in who gets summoned to a medieval fantasy world for unknown reasons. He quickly finds that he has the power to resurrect himself whenever he dies, and he must use this power to ensure that both he and his new friends will remain safe in a world full of demons, cults, and evil witches. Currently, Studio White Fox is airing the director’s cut of the series, which can be streamed on Crunchyroll. The director’s cut has all new scenes that were not in the original broadcast of the series, as well as new music.

This is not the only delay the series has had, though-the release of Re:Zero‘s opening and ending theme CD’s have also been delayed due to the Corona Virus. The opening song “Realize” by Konomi Suzuki will come out on August 26, while the ending “Memento” by Nonoc will be released on September 2.
