For the past three years, we’ve heard rumors and rumblings about the possibility that director Peter Jackson could, at some point, take the helm of an episode of Doctor Who. And after Neil Gaiman came on to write episodes, it seemed even more attractive a possibility. The fact that the show could attract such top tier talent says a lot about both the show and how far fandom extends to include even those with their own fans.

He’s mentioned it, and then we email him and he doesn’t reply,” Moffat said. “I think his plan is we all go to New Zealand and spend six months making it and our plan is he comes to Cardiff and makes it in 12 days. There’s that disparity.”
