COMIC CON CARNE
Comic Con Carne began life in 2012, with hosts Jason Hunt and Rina Mehta bringing you the latest news from the comics industry. The title, of course, plays with both the ubiquitous use of the term “Comic Con” for many conventions, plus the fact that Jason’s from Texas, and it just is a fun title.
- new titles
- new creative teams
- sales and market details
- movie and TV adaptations
- convention news
And not just the Big Two — DC and Marvel aren’t the only publishers in the industry, and we have made a big effort to include all of the publishers: Dark Horse, IDW, Dynamite, Ape, Valiant, Boom! Studios, Zenescope, Titan, Aspen, Big Dog Ink and even the smaller publishers you may not have even heard of.
Volume One was where we found our footing, and we played with the format a bit — different show lengths, different formats for the graphics, different camera shots. But we finally settled down to a good mix that let us deliver the industry news without being too much to handle.
And we have some cool cover art. Each episode’s opening title sequence includes a “cover” for that month, exactly like the comics we read. Volume One “issue” titles centered around the number for the issue. Because we had to have some fun with it, right?
Plus, each month had its own “panel” with behind the scenes photos.

Toward the tail end of the Volume One run, Rina got the urge to concentrate on comic book movies, and so we spun her off to host Comic Con Carne: Silver Screen Edition as part of Volume Two.
Then, well… Rina had to go off and get married….
So Volume Two is currently a solo act. Still bringing you the latest from the comics industry. And still with the cool cover art:

This year’s title theme… well, you can guess, right?
SILVER SCREEN EDITION
This show originally spun out of the original program as a way to make it a little shorter and easier to consume on YouTube. What resulted is a concentrated look at all the television and movie adaptations of comic books — the latest news, rumors, behind the scenes photos and gossip about the new cinematic adventures of our favorite (and not-so-favorite) capes.
- Marvel Cinematic Universe
- DC Cinematic Universe
- TV & Movie adaptations
- Web shows & Fan Fiction
Silver Screen Edition lasted nearly a year, and after going through three hosts in that time, it was decided to fold the content back into the main show. So for now, you can get your comic book and filmed media news all in one place with Prime.
