Olivia Munn Cast as Psylocke
X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer recently posted on his Instagram account, that Olivia Munn has joined the cast as Psylocke.
A familiar face to genre fans, Munn broke out as the co-host of Attack of the Show! from 2006-2010 on G4 before it became the Esquire Network. With a brief appearance in Iron Man 2 and roles in Chuck, Robot Chicken, Deliver Us From Evil, and The Newsroom, she’s well-established in the sci-fi and comics scene.
Munn will play Betsy Braddock, also known as Psylocke, one of the more popular members of the X-Men during the 1990s. Created by Chris Claremont and Herb Trimpe, she first appeared in Captain Britain #8 (1978) — originally his twin sister with telepathic abilities — before making her U.S. debut in 1986 (New Mutants Annual #2). She’s undergone several transformations over the years, most notably body-swapping with the Japanese female ninja known as Kwannon.
X-Men: Apocalypse is scheduled for release on May 27, 2016.
