New HIGURASHI: WHEN THEY CRY Anime Postponed

Another day, another delay. Studio DEEN (The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods, Is This a Zombie?) announced earlier on the show’s official website that the new Higurashi: When They Cry anime is going to be delayed, due to the Corona Virus pandemic. There is no new release date slated for the project, currently. You can watch the initial trailers for the project right here:

The anime is based off of the popular horror visual novel series that started in 2002, Higurashi: When They Cry, made by studio 07th Expansion. The series follows a young man from the city named Keiichi Maebara who moves to a town in the countryside. After a while, strange occurrences thrust the man into a mystery, where the answers he’s looking for are often more terrifying than anything he could ever imagine.

For now, the studio recommends following them on Twitter for updates regarding the release date for the upcoming adaptation.
