Director Bryan Singer, having recently joined the Twitterverse, posted these photos from a recent sound mixing session:

From the looks of it, this is a mix for the trailer, which is attached to Rise of the Guardians and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

The film, which had a title change last month to something more family friendly, has had a rocky production process. The release date has been moved several times, and it’s been a year since the first teaser trailer dropped. A loose re-telling of “Jack and the Beanstalk” that shows Jack going along with a gang of knights up said beanstalk to rescue the damsel in distress — one Princess Isabelle, who’s just out looking for an adventure.

Word from Screen Rant is that the film’s release date got pushed back to March 1st because Warner Bros. needed a solid film in March to replace Arthur & Lancelot, which has run into production problems. The March 1st date puts Jack into theaters a week ahead of Oz: The Great and Powerful, so it will be interesting to see if Jack has legs beyond the first week.

Nicholas Hoult stars as Jack (and this film comes out just after his other film, Warm Bodies, lands in theaters) along with Ewan McGregor as Elmont, Stanley Tucci as Lord Roderick, and Eleanor Tomlinson as Isabelle.

From the official synopsis:

…the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend—and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

And Stanley Tucci seems to be playing the bad guy with moustache-twirling zeal, so it’s all good. Right?
