Inevitable: Syfy Cancels WAREHOUSE 13

Syfy sent out the press release today. Next season will be the fifth and final for Warehouse 13.

Mark Stern, President, Original Content, Syfy, and Co-Head, Original Content, Universal Cable Productions: “Warehouse 13 has been an incredible signature series for us.  We are grateful to the loyal and passionate fan base and know that Jack Kenny, his gifted creative team, and outstanding ensemble cast will give them an amazing finale season.” So how does Syfy and Stern define “amazing”? With a “season” running only six episodes.

You read that right, folks. The fifth “season” of Warehouse 13 will be only six episodes. At least Eureka got a full season to wrap things up.

It’s been a fun ride.

  • Unfortunately, Eureka didn’t get a whole series to wrap things up, they were told they were cancelled while they were filming the last few episodes of the series and had to make rush changes to the season finale to give it a proper ending:/ Both these series will be sorely missed.

    • You make a point.

I guess what I mean is that while Eureka‘s fifth season was its last, at least it had what could be considered a full season. Six episodes is short even in the BBC model, and I think it short-changes the audience and thumbs Syfy’s nose at Warehouse 13. But that’s just me.
