Coming to You – LIVE!
Over the past few months, I’ve had the pleasure of appearing as a guest on The Big Dumb Fun Show – talking about my movies, talking about Planet Comicon, talking about this site – and it led me to the conclusion that SciFi4Me should have some live programming.
Upon investigating further, I finally settled on LiveStream as our platform. Now, whether this pans out will be something we determine over time. Now that we’re also a YouTube Partner (yay us!), we may be able to tap into the nascent YouTube Live option, but that’s an opportunity that has yet to materialize.
So, in the meantime, we have this live channel, which begs the question: how do we launch it properly?
Free Comic Book Day!
On Saturday, May 5th, comic shops all over the country (and in some other parts of the world) will open their doors and give away special editions of comics to new and experienced comics collectors. Many shops will have costumers, food, entertainment, and such. Others will have comic book writers and artists as special guests.
A few comic shops will have us there, too.
We’re going to make the attempt to cover Free Comic Book Day LIVE on our new LiveStream channel. Using laptops, cameras, and a lot of gumption, SciFi4Me will be bringing you the day’s events from comic shops all across North America. We’re still finalizing the list.
Now, this is either going to be a great first use of our streaming capability, or it’s going to be one of the biggest train wrecks in our three-year history.
I’m optimistic, right?
