Comic-Con 2012: Preview Night Sneak Peek
San Diego Comic-Con 2012 officially kicks off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening with Preview Night, when for the fifth straight year Warner Bros. Television will present exclusive world premiere sneak peek screenings of five of its brand-new shows for the 2012-13 television season.
Terry O’Quinn (“Lost”) and Vanessa Williams (“Desperate Housewives”) headline this chilling good vs. evil drama as the owners of a demonic Manhattan apartment building with a killer address. They recruit an idealistic young couple to manage the historic site where anything you desire can be yours … for a price.
Based on the book series by Gabriella Pierce, “666 Park Avenue” was written by David Wilcox, and also stars Dave Annable, Rachael Taylor, Robert Buckley, Mercedes Masohn, Helena Mattsson and Erik Palladino as the doorman.
After being marooned for five years on a remote island, billionaire Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) returns home with a mysterious agenda and lethal new set of skills that he employs in his personal war on crime. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore his hometown of Starling City to its former glory.
This modern retelling of the Green Arrow comic is expected to premiere October 10, 2012 on the CW.
Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee Kevin Bacon and UK’s James Purefoy (“Rome”) star in this cat-and-mouse thriller from Kevin Williamson (“The Vampire Diaries” and “Scream”) about diabolical escaped serial killer Joe Carroll (Purefoy) and the psychologically scarred former FBI agent Ryan Hardy (Bacon) who is called in to help catch him.
Hardy soon discovers that Carroll was not only communicating with a network of killers in the outside world, but has much more planned than just a prison escape, and there’s no telling how many additional serial killers he has created.
In this epic adventure thriller from “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke, J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and “Iron Man” director Jon Favreau, a family struggles to reunite in a post-apocalyptic landscape of empty cities, local militias and heroic freedom fighters where every single piece of technology, including phones, computers, cars, and even lights has mysteriously blacked out, perhaps permanently.
Favreau directed the pilot episode and will serve as co-executive producer of the new series.
“The Vampire Diaries” Matt Davis stars opposite Jessica Lucas in this new show-within-a-show, where Skye (Lucas), is a young production assistant on a wildly popular TV show called Cult. She joins Jeff (Davis), a journalist whose brother is among those missing, in investigating the rabid fandom of the TV series Cult and its creepy leader Billy Grimm (Robert Knepper).
This midseason entry actually began life six years ago when sci-fi veteran Rockne S. O’Bannon penned it for the 2005-06 development season at the WB, but the project was axed during the UPN/WB merger and the script shelved. Six years later O’Bannon’s updated script was resurrected at the CW, resulting in the pilot that will be seen for the first time ever in public on Wednesday night.
