Apparently, Bruce Campbell Doesn’t Suck

Banner_HorrorNews

Because you’re no doubt already tired of that OTHER election’s news, Bruce Campbell wants you to remember that it’s also getting close to the voting for this September’s Primetime Emmys. And he wants to win one.

In his attempt to get nominated for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, Campbell – along with Starz – has created four short videos promoting reasons for why he should. In his inimitable style, the reasons range from “he doesn’t suck” to “because I {bleeping} said so”.

In case you’ve been trapped in a cabin deep in the woods for the last couple of decades, Ash Vs Evil Dead is the television continuation of the first (and technically second) Evil Dead movie (rights issues keep them from referencing Army of Darkness), where Ash (played by Campbell) battles the forces of the undead. (I recapped the first episode, and planned on doing the rest of the season but haven’t had the time.)

They are on their way to a second season, and have expanded the cast to include Ted Raimi (finally) and Lee Majors. The second season will be 10 half-hour episodes, and is shown on the Starz network.

Nominations for this year’s Emmys start today, June 13, and go until June 27. Members of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences are the ones eligible to vote for the Primetime Emmys, but the campaign has a hashtag (#Ash4Emmy) that I’m sure is their way to get those of us who want him to win that have social media to encourage the nomination process.

As Ash says, make the Emmys groovy again.
