Episode 404 “Let Me Stand Next to Your Fire”
Written by Matt Owens
Directed by Brad Turner
This week: the return of Phil Coulson and the Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement Logistics Division – “We’re making a comeback.”
So nice to see quippy Phil in his suit and tie for most of this episode. It’s almost as if someone on the show decided that we need a little more Iron Man Phil tossing out zingers and knocking heads together without breaking a sweat. Not to mention now he’s got another member in his “back from the dead” club with Melinda May’s reboot.
Not to mention a spiffy car chase through which to show off Lola.
And while May cools her heels with Dr. Radcliffe and AIDA, the rest of the team manages to all land in the same place at the same time, fighting the Watchdogs along with Hellfire, who doesn’t really want to cooperate with S.H.I.E.L.D. in the whole Inhuman registration thing. Add Ghost Rider to the mix? In a fireworks shop? To quote Phil, “You had to see that coming.”
Plus: more movement toward the Dark Arts of magic as the search for the Darkhold begins in earnest. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. delivers a hot episode.
The panel: Maia Ades, Mindy Inlow, Kathryn Sanders, Dan Handley, Sam Sentman, Timothy Harvey, Jason Hunt
