Episode 313 “Parting Shot”

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. presents the back-door pilot for Marvel’s Most Wanted, and it does it in a very ham-fisted way. Besides doing the whole “38 Hours Earlier” schtick, the episode has a few increasingly heavy-handed Hand Of The Writer moments that serve to really really make sure we understand this is the beginning of the thread that will unspool to the new show Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood are about to carry.

The plot: Gideon Malick is manipulating the Russians, and there’s an Inhuman in the Russian cabinet, and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (which doesn’t officially exist anymore…ahem) intervene when it becomes clear that the Russian Prime Minister is the target for an assassination plot. And from there it gets a bit… messy. But with a few pretty good moments.
