Agent 13 Joins CIVIL WAR
Emily VanKamp is set to reprise her role as Sharon Carter, S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 13, in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War.
Closely following the news that her star vehicle, Revenge, was cancelled by ABC, Marvel made the announcement that VanCamp would return to the MCU. Her first appearance was in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, in which Agent 13 — as yet to be identified as Carter — pretended to be a nurse living next door to Steve Rogers. “Kate” was assigned to keep an eye on Cap to make sure he was adjusting to modern times.
During the Hydra coup in Winter Soldier, Agent 13 played a role in the attempt to re-take S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters from the likes of Jasper Sitwell and Brock Rumlow.
In the comics, Agent 13 is the niece of SSR Agent Peggy Carter (played by Hayley Atwell). In the early days of her appearances, she was the daughter, but as time has moved further away from World War II, the relationship between Peggy and Sharon has evolved. Although she has yet to be named as such in the films, fans have made the assumption based on her agent designation and general appearance.
At the end of Winter Soldier, Agent 13 transferred to the FBI. With that status, which side will she choose?
