Oscar winner Geena Davis has joined the cast of The Exorcist, based on the 1971 novel by William Blatty that inspired the original starring Linda Blair and Max von Sydow.
Davis will take on the role of Angela Rance, a woman of faith with family struggles. Despite the stress in her life, she tries to stay positive, but she’s having nightmares about a demon.
Which is never good, right?
This marks Davis’ return to television as a regular cast member for the first time since Commander in Chief. Last year, she had a recurring role on Grey’s Anatomy.
The pilot for the new series was written by Jeremy Slater (Fantastic Four), who will also executive produce with James Robinson, David Robinson, Barbara Wall, and Rupert Wyatt. Wyatt will also direct the pilot.
