SUICIDE SQUAD Casting News

Suicide Squad has been making headlines of late, with new announcements of additions to the cast.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who played both Algrim and Kurse in Thor: The Dark World, as well as Heavy Duty in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, is the latest to sign onto the DC Comics film. The Wrap is reporting that he will play Killer Croc, one of Batman’s more outlandish villains. And while it may be possible the film will show Croc in his human form, Waylon Jones, the reptilian look has been with the character since his debut in Batman #357 in 1983.

The Toronto Sun reports that boxer Raymond Olubowale will also appear in the film, and though there’s no word on the role, the rumor is that he’ll play King Shark.

Web site eTalk has news that Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott, has confirmed he’s been in Toronto shooting on the film. Rumor is (according to Latino Review) that he may be playing Steve Trevor, and that Suicide Squad will introduce the character before he goes on to join Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in her solo film. Eastwood can be seen in The Longest Ride.

Karen Fukuhara has also been added to the cast, according to The Wrap, but no specifics as of yet. Early rumor is that she’s playing Plastique.

Also noteworthy is the fact that the Arrow team may have lost the use of Deadshot for the foreseeable future, likely because the character will appear in Suicide Squad, played by Will Smith. Arrow producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed on his Tumblr account:

With the inclusion of Killer Croc in Suicide Squad, the addition of Aquaman to Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the rising popularity of the 1966 Batman, speculation at Entertainment Weekly is that the Christopher Nolan era of superheroes may finally be coming to an end.
