Kali’s Top Five Most Anticipated Games

Preview, Video Games No Comments 0

Hello all, I’m Kali. I’ll be one of the video game junkies on this here site. I’d been racking my brain trying to find a good way to introduce myself, and I decided to do a quick top five of my most anticipated upcoming games. Think of it kind of like a first date/ interview without all the awkwardness… Alright, here we go!

5. Silent Hill: Book of Memories

Release Date: October 16, 2012
M for Mature: Blood and Gore, Language, Suggestive Themes, Violence
Genre: Adventure
Publisher: Konami
Developer: WayForward Technologies

I put this one lowest on the list because while I am a die hard fan of the Silent Hill series, the last few installments were lacking in a lot of what made the first three so incredible (real fear, atmosphere) Now that being said, I am interested in customizing a character and running around the Silent Hill, plus the Vita really needs some solid titles.

4. DMC

Release Date: January 15, 2013
M for Mature : Blood and Gore, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, Nudity, Sexual Content, Strong Language
Published by:
Capcom
Developer: Ninja Theory
Genre: Action

Once again, very big fan of the Devil May Cry series. I even own 2 (don’t judge me, it makes an excellent coaster) I even liked 4, aside from Nero’s incessant whining and inability to say his girlfriend’s name properly ( KEYREAAAHHHH!!) This reboot looks beautiful I’m just hoping they keep certain elements of Dante and his world alive.

Screenshots here.

3. Assassin’s Creed III

Release Date: October 30, 2012
M for Mature: Blood, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, Strong Language
Genre: Action
Publisher: Ubisoft
Developers: Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Annecy

What can I say? I’m just as eager as the rest of you to dive off of trees and kill bears in the wilderness. The gameplay looks amazing; I like to refer to it as the lovechild of Assassin’s Creed and Red Dead Redemption, in the best possible way. The only gripe I may have about it could possibly come from what all the other games in the series suffered from, repetitiveness, but only time will tell.

Screenshots and game info past the age gate here.

2. Persona 4: Golden

Published by: Atlus
Developed by: Atlus
Genre: RPG
Release Date: November 20, 2012 (US); June 14, 2012 (Japan)
RP-M+ for Rating Pending, Targeting a Rating of Mature or Above

I have been a fan of the Shin Megami Tensei series for the past ten years, Persona is one of the reasons why. It has amazingly deep story telling and addictive gameplay. The persona fusion system is unique and diverse. Just in case you get too comfortable, “mistakes” occur from time to time, you can either get a high level, high powered persona or a low level crap persona. Even though I have played Persona 4 several times I am still very much looking forward to P4 Golden. New characters, social links, and activities and areas to explore are enough to warrant another few go arounds.

1. Aliens: Colonial Marines

Release Date: February 12, 2013
RP-T+ for Rating Pending, Targeting a Rating of Teen or Above:
Genre: First-Person Shooter
Publisher: SEGA
Developer: Gearbox Software

Oh man, this speaks to the geek in me. I’ve been tired of the first person shooters for quite some time, but add the ability to play as either the xenomorphs or the marines (and a DLC that allows you to play as Reese, aka Hicks… Shut up. He’ll always be Reese to me). Not much has been said about the story, but it does have multiplayer. Imagine the hours of fun you can have sneaking up on your friends and stabbing them with the aliens second mouth! The game looks wicked cool and I anxiously await it.

More info and screenshots if you can prove you’re old enough here.

Well, that’s it for now folks. Give me some feedback; what are some games you are looking forward to?
