Greetings ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the second installment of SciFi4Music, SciFi4Me.com’s new series on music and musicians with a science fiction and fantasy flavor, and our second in a series on singer/songwriter Tiff Randol’s IAMEVE The Everything Nothing.
A science fiction and fantasy fan herself, Randol has crafted a science fiction themed concept album, where, over 12 songs, the main character, Eve Ami, tries to escape from a dystopian future and finds herself falling back through past lives on a journey “from self-destruction to self-love”. Randol has had songs featured on TV shows like The Hills, The Lying Game, Degrassi, and Royal Pains and she’s been heard on MTV and VH1, Comedy Central among others.
I’ve already touched on what I think of the first single and video from the album, “Throw Me A Line”, in our first installment, but in short, it evokes Metropolis, 1984 and Blade Runner, with Randol’s vocals and lyrics lending themselves extremely well to crafting the journey Eve has begun. But enough of my writing about it, let’s hear from Tiff Randol herself, in the Skype interview I had with her earlier this month.
As I say in the video, SciFi4Music will be following Eve’s journey, and we’ll be be back in touch with Tiff as new tracks and videos come out. You can follow along here with us, and at the IAMEVE site, www.iamevemusic.com. And because it is a really cool video, here it is again…
For those of you in the Los Angelos area, you can see IAMEVE live at the Hotel Cafe on June 9th, with tickets for the show available at www.hotelcafe.com.
The second single off The Everything Nothing, “Another Day”, is available at her Bandcamp page, where you can stream it or download it. If you choose the download option, she’s got it set up so you can name your price for it, and you can also embed her player if you want to share the song.
And for those of you who enjoy remixes, and those of you who enjoy creating remixes, you should make your way to Indaba Music’s website and enter the contest to create your own remix of “Throw Me A Line”. The grand prize nets you $250 and featured on the IAMEVE website and Facebook page. The deadline for entries is May 28th, 2012, so sooner would be better. You can also check out what some really talented people have already submitted. http://www.indabamusic.com/opportunities/iameve-throw-me-a-line-remix-contest
You can also follow IAMEVE on Facebook and Twitter, and find my interview with her and all SciFi4Me’s videos on our YouTube page, which of course we encourage you to subscribe to.
Thanks for watching and reading, thanks to Tiff for her time, and we’ll be back with more on IAMEVE, and the music and musician’s who are influenced by, and influencing, genre music!
Be seeing you.
